International Council for Formation Nov 23rd - 2015

Towards a Capuchin Ratio formationis

WP 20151123 10 26 56 Pro

Our International Formation Council members have gathered at our General Curia, Rome for the Third International Council for Formation (23-28th November 2015). Our main objective for this third International Council for formation is to work further on the 'ratio'. Br. Sergio Dal Moro set the tone for the council with his homily inviting us to have faith which will lead us to trust others and take risks to serve God.

This time the council is concentrating more on the 'Five Dimensions'. Br. Charles Alphonse invited the members to focus their attention on ratio preparations. And keep the reflection on ratio their main priority in all their deliberations, talks and animation so that our brothers get motivated about it s importance. Br. Jaime who has done lots of preparatory works for the council has enlighten us on this with his report, plans and explanations about the importance of Christ centered, fraternal Capuchin Ratio. It is one of the main tasks entrusted to our Secretariat by the General Council. And this time preparation of 'ratio' will reach an important phase with the work on the second chapter. Br. Kilian Ngiter in his talk on human formation invited the formators to help for a good, human and affective formation so that our candidates will learn to be open and grow in capuchin identity.

We have contacted very good resource persons to put us on track in this venture. In this respect we had a meeting with Prof. Beppe M. Roggia who has further sharpened our vision on ratio and was with the council today to further give orientation and encouragement. He expressed his satisfaction about the preparations done so for and encouraged us with the saying that it could become a model document for other religious.
