RECENT ACTIVITIES AROUND OUR SCHOOLS

REPORT ON TREKKING CAMP: 3KAR BN: DARSHAN COLLEGE
The NCC Department orchestrated a "One Day Trekking Camp" in Tumkuru on April 13, 2024, fostering an invigorating and positive atmosphere where cadets could cultivate confidence and bolster self-esteem. Twenty-four cadets, accompanied by an ANO (Associate NCC Officer), enthusiastically participated in this adventure. Embarking from the college premises at 7:00 a.m. via college bus, the cadets indulged in singing and dancing during the journey. Upon reaching Channarayana Durga village at 9:45 a.m., they relished a picturesque breakfast amidst the village scenery. To guide and inspire the cadets, NCC seniors Mr. Keerthi, Mr. Pasha, and volunteers from Tumkur youth hikers were present. Commencing at 10:15 a.m., the trek commenced from the foothills, leading to the initial level of the fort. The cadets embarked on the journey with fervor, traversing the primary streets of Channarayana Durga village. Channarayana Durga, a captivating day trek, offered stunning vistas and an exhilarating hiking experience for the cadets, with rock formations resembling cracks showcasing geological wonders. Amidst the ascent, the cadets captured memories through photographs and reveled in the fort's panoramic views. Upon reaching the summit, they beheld other forts and hills in the distance.

Summer camp @ Trinity Central School
To beat the heat of the summer, Trinity Central School organized summer camp for all the cubs and bulbuls students from 25th March 2024 to 27th March 2024 with some of the best activities to enroll during the vacations. The activities such as camping, sand art, art workshop, music and action songs were the special attractions of the camp. Most of the events and activities were aimed at developing the leadership qualities, socializing, embracing differences and helping kids learn, exploring, developing independence, and even to cultivate new interests and hobbies. As a part of the camp, on the second day a visit to Yathish Kidiyoor’s bottle house, was arranged where students engaged themselves in the greenery and learnt the importance of recycling the best out of waste and on the last day of the camp visit to Saalumarada Thimmakka park was arranged to study the love towards nature. Children had lovely special lunch throughout the camp. On the last day it was the culmination of the camp with lots of fun, singing and dancing etc. Students had lovely entertainment and it was indeed fun filled days. After spending fruitful three days all went home for a summer break……!!!!

The Anti-Ragging seminar at Darshan College
The Anti-Ragging Cell organized a seminar titled "Bullying, Ragging, and Its Emotional Trauma on Young Minds" on April 23, 2024, in the college auditorium. The seminar was conducted by Dr. Asha C.S, a Counselor and Psychiatrist from Rajarajeshwari Medical College and Hospital. The discussion encompassed topics such as ragging, its effects, potential punishments, and health impacts. Emphasizing ragging as a criminal act, the event underscored the importance of fostering a friendly atmosphere between seniors and juniors. Victims of ragging often endure both physical and mental distress. Therefore, efforts to mitigate it should include raising awareness, providing counseling or mentorship, and implementing other safety measures on campus. All students pledged not to engage in ragging and not to tolerate being ragged.

Tiny hats... Big dreams... : Trinity Central School
Kindergarten Graduation day at Trinity Central school. The UKG Children of Trinity Central School celebrated their graduation day on 23rd March 2024 at Trinitorium. Dressed in their graduation costumes, the students led by Miss. Kalpana proudly marched on the red carpet along with the dignitaries – Chief guest Dr Virupaksha Deveramane, Rev. Fr. Roshan Menezes, Prinicipal Rev. Fr. Dominic Sunil Lobo, Vice- Prinicipal Rev. Fr. Ravi Rajesh Serrao, Primary section Head Dr Poornima Devadiga, and Pre-primary section Head Ms. Renita Monteiro swaying to the rhythm of the school band. The programme commenced with a hymn which was followed by a welcome dance by the LKG Children. Thereafter a few of the Young graduates shared their experiences and memories of their time spent in Kindergarten. Acknowledging the hardwork of the little graduates, the chief guest of the day Dr Virupaksha Deveramane honoured the children by awarding the graduation certificates.

Thanksgiving Day @ Trinity Central School
Gratitude can transform common days into thanksgivings, turn routine jobs into joy, and change ordinary opportunities into blessings. Be thankful for what you have, you will end up having more. Thanksgiving Day was held in Trinity Central School on 22nd March, 2024 to thank for all the blessings received and for making the academic year a memorable one. The day began with the Thanksgiving Eucharistic Mass for the catholic students. Later all the students gathered in the Trinitorium for the Thanksgiving celebration. The program began with the prayer song sung by the school choir. The Principal Rev. Fr Dominic Sunil Lobo, Vice Principal Rev. Fr Ravi Rajesh Serrao, the chief guest Rev. Dr. Fr Charles Furtado, PTA president Mr. Srinivas, PTA secretary Ms. Ashwitha were present on the dais. As it was the last day of the academic year, and the day to cherish, there was also a prize distribution ceremony for various events and disciplines. The Principal Rev. Fr Dominic Sunil Lobo announced the winners of the best class assembly, sports, cultural and literary achievers as well as the best house of the academic year 2023-24 and gave away the trophies to the respective classes and houses.

The Valedictory programme for the 10th std students was organized on 3rd February 2024. Our 53 diamonds, their parents and the dignitaries were welcomed with a grand band, Aarti, march fast, lezim and crackers. The chief guest of the programme was Rev. Fr Anthony D’souza MSFS, other dignitaries were Rev. Sr Idoline Rodrigues, Rev. Fr Pradeep Kumar MSFS, Rev. Fr Satish Fernandes and Rev Fr Vincent D’souza. The prayer dance created heaven on the earth. Soon after this, a series of spectacular entertainment programs followed. Some of them refreshed the memories of 10th std students. The variety of programs like skits, dances, Taekwondo amused the huge crowd. The audience was delighted to see the talented Assisians. The speech by the chief guest, Rev Fr Anthony D’Souza and the guest of honour Rev Sr Idoline Rodrigues inspired students and audience with their motivational words. The 10th std students sang a thanksgiving song with their hearts filled with gratitude, handed over the lighted torch to their juniors and finally everyone wished them all the best for their future endeavours. This Valedictory day left a lasting impression in the minds of 10th std students.

Teachers tour to Goa : ST. FRANCIS OF ASSISI SCHOOL Chikodi
Teachers tour to Goa was organized from 16th to 18th of February, 2024. All the teachers started their journey with enthusiasm. On the first day of the tour all the teachers enjoyed the attractive church at old Goa, breath-taking views of Dona Paul jetty beach side, flavourful breakfast and tasty meal, captivating boat ride and dolphin view and at the end wonderful Calangute beach. After taking rest at Monte De Gurim in Mapusa, all the teachers started their second day of the tour. There was a lot to explore on the second day, first one was the pleasant Vagator beach, next one was Sequerim fort and the final and the most refreshing one was Cecilia beach shack at Sernabatim beach, Colva. This tour helped all the Assisi teachers to experience new cultures, exposed them to new environment, it was refreshing and gave a good break to all the teachers.

LET’S BE INFORMED : ST. FRANCIS OF ASSISI SCHOOL Chikodi
An event embarked on International Women's Day was held, featuring Dr. Nyruyhya K. M. an obstetrician and gynecologist who spoke on the topic of "Vaccination in Cervical Cancer ". The event began with a welcome prayer dance performed by our students. The guests for this auspicious day were then introduced, and Mr. Parag the CEO of Diyaa hospital spoke about the facilities provided in the hospital. Furthermore, Dr. Nyruyhya gave a growing awareness on the importance of vaccination during the event.

ALWAYS SPEAK THE TRUTH : ST. FRANCIS OF ASSISI SCHOOL Chikodi
Mahatma Gandhi says, “Truth is God and God is truth”, speak always truth and truth will set you free. It will give you freedom. This theme was running in the drama “THE BASKET OF FLOWERS” which was enacted by IV A&B students, on Valedictory day, 3rd February 2024, in the evening at 4pm. To judge the skit Sr Idoline Rodrigues from Mangalore, Ms Xayzel Rodrigues from Goa and Anchilla from Siddhapur were present. To build the self-confidence and courage of children platform was created to speak in English through skits, on the stage. Gathered audience were astonished by looking at the performance and language of children. This competition has spread the message that Assisi kids are very good at their academics.

VALUE FAMILY AND NATURE : ST. FRANCIS OF ASSISI SCHOOL Chikodi
On Valedictory day, 3rd February 2024, in the evening 4pm onwards there were English skits competition for Ist Standard to 4th Standard students. The judges were Sr Idoline Rodrigues from Mangalore, Ms Xayzel Rodrigues from Goa and Anchilla from Siddhapur. To build the self-confidence and courage of children platform was created to speak in English through skits, on the stage. Gathered audience were thunderstruck by looking at the performance and language of children. III A students enacted skit: “Respect the elders and nature” and III B: “Respect your parents”. This competition has spread the message that Assisi kids are very good at their academics.

Trinity Central School feels proud as its students have brought laurels to the school in the Drawing Grade Exam conducted by Karnataka Secondary Examination Board Bangalore held in the month of November 2023. 26 students appeared for the exam. They have performed excellptionally well and have secured 100% results. While 21 students have secured distinction, 5 students have scored First Class. The school extends best wishes to all the students and congratulates them.

Trinity triumph
We are proud to announce that our under 14 boys and girls team secured second place in Handball tournament held by Udupi District Handball Association at Udyavara on 30th November 2023. The Principal, staff and the management congratulate the team for this amazing achievement.

Master Vishwas of grade 9 has bagged third place in the State level drawing competition organised by Central Power Research Institute which was held at Bangalore on 27th November 2023. He has also been selected for the National level competition. The Principal, Staff and the Management is proud of his amazing achievement.

100% results in ICSE Board exams 2022-23 for the 9th consecutive year
Trinity Central School, Perampalli has made another remarkable achievement. The school has aced the ICSE results with an outstanding performance. With a redoubtable 100% for the 9th consecutive year and 7 students securing 100/100 in different subjects, the students have indeed brought laurels to the school. With 51 students appearing for the exam everyone has passed with flying colours.

Sthuthi Bharadwaj has put in her best efforts and has performed magnificently by securing 98%. She is the topper of the school. Fathimath Zohra stands second with 96.6% whereas, Swasthik B. S secured the third position with 95.2%.

While 25 students have scored above 85%, 22 students have scored 70-84%, 4 students 60-69% and have brought honour and laurels to the school.

The Function of Capuchin Education Board:
The Capuchin Education Board functions under the supervision of Provincial Minister and his Council. The Education ministry of the Province is a teamwork of all the friars involved in the ministry. The ministry constitutes one vision, one mission, which is all round development of the person, through value based and person-oriented education which leads to transformation and excellence. While providing excellence in education the Capuchins insist on “discipline, determination and dedication”. In pursuit of quality education every student is called upon to respond through conviction and commitment so that the imparted knowledge, skills and values enable them to become good human persons and good citizens of India, socially responsible, productive, creative and innovative.
