We are only a few months away from World Youth Day, which this year takes place the first week of August, and we can already feel the excitement of preparation and the air of joy. WYD is an opportunity for young people from around the world to gather as Church around the Pope to pray, reflect and share. In addition, it provides the various religious and lay families a chance to come together internationally and engage with their young people.
This year we want to take the opportunity to meet as Capuchins in the spirit of fraternity and to together share with participants the grace of our charism.
The first gathering will be held in the Church of São Paulo in Lisbon on Tuesday, August 1st at 9:00, in the presence of the General Minister, Br. Roberto Genuin. Then, our brother Cardinal Seán O'Malley will preside at a “Capuchin Mass”, which will be celebrated on Saturday 5 August at 8:00 in the parish church of Santa Engracia; from there we will walk together to the location of the youth vigil with Pope Francis.
