Beatification of Mother Maria Costanza Panas

On October 9, 2022, at the Cathedral of Fabriano, Italy, Cardinal Marcello Semeraro, Prefect of the Congregation for the Causes of Saints, will preside over the beatification rite of Mother Maria Costanza Panas (1896-1963), a Capuchin Poor Clare who lived in the monastery of San Romualdo in Fabriano from October 11, 1917 to May 28, 1963.
The beatification rite will take place exactly one year after the beatification in Naples of Mother Maria Lorenza Longo (October 9, 2021), foundress of the Capuchin Poor Clares and of the Hospital of the Incurables in Naples. This coincidence helps us to understand, once again, that the call to holiness has close ties with and is deeply rooted in communion, in sharing, in the gift of oneself to others; and at the same time, it signifies that true richness in life lies in the surrender of one's own nothingness to the power of God's love.
