The Coming Beatifications

It has only been over recent weeks that the calendar for the next group of beatifications has been defined. It has been unfortunately affected by the current global health emergencies caused by the ongoing pandemic in the various locations where the rites are to be held.

Below is the calendar as it stands:

October 3, 2021 – Catanzaro, Italy: beatification of the Venerable Servants of God Maria Antonia Samà and Gaetana Tolomeo, lay faithful. Causa extra Ordine.

October 9, 2021 – Naples, Italy: beatification of the Venerable Servant of God Maria Lorenza Longo, OSCCap, foundress of the Hospital for the Incurables of Naples and of the Capuchin Poor Clares.

November 6, 2021 – Manresa, Spain: beatification of Benedetto da Santa Coloma, Giuseppe Oriol da Barcelona and Dominic da Sant Pere de Riudebitlles, Capuchin friars of the Province of Catalonia, martyrs.

June 4, 2022 – Beirut, Lebanon: beatification of Thomas Salech and Leonardo Melki, Capuchin friars of the Custody of the Near East, martyrs.

Finally, it should be remembered that, despite having celebrated the Ordinary Public Consistory for the canonization of some blessed on May 3, 2021, we are still awaiting the date on which the canonization rite of Blessed Maria Francesca di Gesù – foundress of the Capuchin Sisters of Mother Rubatto – will be celebrated in St. Peter's Square in Rome.
